Hello All! I have been checking out this board for a while and doing some reading and finally decided to pull the trigger on a 24g aquapod earlier this week. I am anxious to get started! FYI, dr. fm have them on sale for 169 if anyone wants to check it out. Now onto my first question. Can I leave the stock filter media in the aq while I cycle or should I use something else? i got a mj900 also.

If you are referring to using LR rubble versus the bio balls I would put the LR rubble in right away. I cycled a BioCube 4 weeks ago and I have heard nothing but good things about using LR rubble instead of bio balls. The best being, less CLEANING.
The downside for me is since I have cycled, I have to swap out balls for rubble a few at a time so that I don't start a mini cycle. If you start with all LR rubble to begin with, "no problem man."

Thanks, I'll try using the LR Rubble. I was looking at this site for my live rock and live sand so it pretty good?

the sand from this site is a lot better than live sand becuase it comes wet directly from the ocean. the rock is suppost to be really good to
