Gimme a break....Our issue with Slack is he comes here and has yet to listen to any advice from anyone.
I could care less if you have an overcrowded tank, I've "been there done that", but when he starts trying to give advice such "the nitrogen cycle dosen't really exist, just throw your fish in the tank", it gets ridiculous....In his time here I have never once heard him take anyones advice. I have been keeping SWF for awhile, but the reason I come here is to learn from people like and a long long list of other people whom have had experiences as well in the hobby. This hobby is all about "live and learn", Slack is not here to learn, he is hear to "stir the pot".....Whatever, doesn't really bother me anymore, I just want to make sure nobody is dumb enough to take his advice.
SrFisher, CCampbell, AquaKnight, Bioneck are gods
and cycle tanks are over rated 75 is still doin fine
now that i think about it so is 180
both w/ no cycle after water changes

Slack - tell me again why you come back to this site? THere are plenty of forums where people think like you.
KJR is simply saying that everyone on this site is coming here for some help.
I remember when you first got on this site and you asked me for some help with getting your Nitrates and other parameters down. You reached out and asked for advise and I gave you the same advise I give everyone. It seems like you only hear what you want and knock those that have expert advise. I gave you props on your 75 and never said anything negative about it.
Your tank works because you basically put together a group of armor plated fish that are there to withstand anything the world throws at them. Your 75 is not cycled. Your fish are not ok. You will have issues. If you put my fish in your tank that have been in captivity for up to 4 years in my tank they would last maybe a week, and no not because your group of killers would get to them, but because your water parameters would.
Keep on keepin on, us "99%'ers" will continue to do things the way we have learned and have been taught.
Personally I find your posts amusing because I dont think, I know that one day you will not be showing up to the site because the atom bomb has hit.
Enjoy your weekend

So far Wisconsin has been pretty lucky and narrowly missed all the Hurracanes
If it hadn't hit New Orleans, it was sure to hit Madison.

The reason that I'm doing hypo is that I did NOT play it safe. I added my puffer directly to the display without using a QT. I knew better. It introduced ich into the tank - thus now I'm finishing hypo - and luckily the ich was killed without any fish being killed. If I would've done what was right in the first place - used a QT and played it safe, I wouldn't be in this situation. Luckily, I had knew how to fix it from all my reading on here. Now - None of my fish died. The blue tank that was covered with ich is healthier than ever. Know this, I will never add a fish without using a QT first.
You say that the 99% play it safe, and have problems... and that 1% don't play it safe, and don't have problems? I would say that the majority of people do NOT play it safe - and thus have problems.

Nah...leave it open. The forum needs a little comic relief; as long as everyone reading the thread is constantly reminded that this is not an example to follow.

Why not switch to groupers? They're the big carnivores you like; and when you lose one, they make a great dinner.
