Just wanted to post my newest addition to my tank. Before all those folks that hate damsels pop in. I actually like a few of the family. This littly guy is so cute, nice color and I know about their personality too. So far he has taken to the maroon clown and they share the hairy mushrooms together...
Here is "Hummer"

Thanks, not the best picture. Hope to get a clear shot tomorrow. I think they are so colorful and striking to look at too.

Ya me too, I think they deserve a place in the aquarium like all other fish do... :cheer:
I have seen some pretty nasty triggers, tangs etc. They all have their own personalities.

Damsels have earned there aggressive reputation.
That's not their fault though. They are used to protecting their spot on the reef. The problem is so many people buy them as starter fish to go in a peaceful
reef setting.
Pet stores sell them small because that's when they are most beautiful. Adult damsels tend to lose their striking colors. People buy small fish thinking it will be fine in their aquarium. When the damsel gets older, the struggle begins.

I know what you are saying. I think that all damsels deserve a place in the right aquarium just like all other fish. There are many others that are just aggressive if not more so than some of the damsels.
My tank is 3 yrs old now, so I am not using it for what most people do. I like damsels partly due to their colors and cost. This little guy has fit right in with the other fish.
The coral beauty is the king of the tank and the maroon is next. All get along just fine and with it being small it will adjust just fine.

i have a domino damsel, he was very small when i got him,,he hostes my anemone, which i think is so cool, since my clowns dont, but on the other hand, he chaces my chromisis all over the aquarium, and he has really grown too, so in the future i may have to take him to the lfs ,,,,great pictures,,thanks for sharing, have a great day......

one of the reasons people dis damsels is that they seem to be fin nippers. This is actual the aquarist's fault, they are schooling fish and should always be kept as such. All schooling fish should be kept in odd numbers of at least 3.

I guess each to his own. I like them, they have caused no troubles in my tank and they deserve a chance just like all other fish..
