New Jeep!

Well, not exactly new, but new for me. It's a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Anyone else got a Jeep?
So, it's not my first, I had a '94 Wrangler years ago and have long wanted to get another one, but for some reason when I suddenly became a single dad 2 years ago I got a car that seemed "sensible". Well, it was a piece of crap.... DON'T EVER OWN A HYUNDAI! It was new and had a warranty, but of course the warranty didn't cover the stuff that actually fell apart. Anyway, after realizing that I lost almost half the value of the car the instant I drove off the lot, and it was loosing ground almost daily, I decided it needed to go asap. I got a great deal and finally have my long awaited Jeep.
My son (now over 3 1/2 years old) LOVES it. He'll definitely be a good off-roadin' buddy when he gets older.

See pics below.

AJ and I, happy that the car is gone:

Oh yeah, couple points that are interesting; V-6, 3.8L, 6-Speed Manual, locking axles for off roading.....

Now just add some mud and you are all set!!!!

Yup, as soon as spring comes I'll be taking it out, there's quite a few great places to off-road in Central PA. I also realized AFTER I got it that the color matches the colors of my moutain bike (a Trek 4300).

A coworker is going with a Tacoma too. He says he's never been a truck person, but there's something about the Tacoma that is "calling" to him.

Wow Congrats... My 89 Jeep Sahara was the first vehicle I purchased on my own. I loved it, I bought it used of course. It had all the trimmings, 5 speed, 2 tops hard and soft, 4 doors full and halfs and a custom alpine stereo system in it. I was psyched. Although it was prob the most fun vehicle I had ever owned, as a kid I beat the crap out of it. LOL. Lets see, dropped the universal joint out of it twice puegot transmission needed rebuild, and then rebuild on the engine itself. Somehow there was fuel leaking into the oil pan, and turning the oil into gel. Or so I was told. Anyway I still loved it even though it cost me an arm and a leg to keep it. That was a long time ago...I want another one.... I love the Rubicons they are sweet looking. Good Luck, with it.

i dirve a jeep too. 5.2l v8 laredo. its a '96 though.
word of caution though, off-roading gets expensive quick. be prepared to drop some dough if something breaks.
and on a sidenote, if i had $50,000 to drop, i would be spending it on a jeep srt-8. anybody see those things? they're amazing.

I didn't go too far with my '94, but I'm sure I'll be doing some off-roading with this one. I always seem to pick the expensive hobbies...heh.
I've seen them, though I'm not a general SUV fan, I just have a soft spot for the good ol' Jeep (Wrangler, CJ, etc).

I've always wanted a jeep too, but I ended up going with an 07 tacoma off road. 3 inch lift, Total Chaos UCA's and some BFG MT's. Fun little truck, but I still would love to have a jeep.

You mean $100k to drop, because those things only get like 12mpg and they aren't meant to drive slowly, so probably more like 8mpg.
