New lights on market

visited my LFS today. he showed me some new lights he got in. 6 55watt 10k PC's in a single hood. this baby has got blue, white, and red bulbs. i'm talking totally sweet PC's! i am going to order me a set next week when i can get some cash :)

he said he would give them to me for $400! they come with stands just like the JBJ's do. I'm talking totally sweet set up. Like I mentioned earlier, they have all the spectrums of sunlight. I tried looking them up on the net. No luck! The maker is called Catalina or something like that. I will go back to my LFS and get the exact name. Maybe I can order them online and eliminate the "middle-man". If I do, I will definitely pass it on! :)

Don't red spectrum lights cause hair algae and stuff to grow? I used a red moon light for a while and had a little hair algae start to grow. I changed it to a blue bulb and the hair algae went away.
Not sure I would want red light over my reef tank.

these are very low spectrum red light. and i'm sure the more light, the more life brought to your environment. i have never experienced lighting with a red "tint" but looking at them makes me want to. I promise to get them soon (after i move to my new residence) and will keep you all posted on how things go......
