New lights

I got new lights today and I need to know how to run the blue. First of all I have a 55 gallon tank and the lights are 260 watts 2-65 watt 10,000k daylight and 2-65 watt true actinic 03 blues. So my question is do you run the blue and daylight all day, blue at night or how does that work?? Thanks for your input.

Please anyone with input on this?? Also I need a diifferent heater mine sucks, what brands are reliable?

keep your blues on an hour before and an hour after your daylights, run a total of NO MORE than 12 hours.
Titanium heaters are pretty good.

so actinics should not be ran with daylights? on the fixture i am getting, the coralife 72" 3x250 hqi DE with 4 96w actinics, you are saying have the actinics come on 1 hour before the halides, then turn off and come back for an hour after halides shut off? should i run the moonlights until the actinics come on in the morning?

I am assuming the bulbs are VHO's I am not very familiar with them but I would say turn the actinics on an hour before and leave them on an hour longer.
For actinics with MH's I like to have a two hour difference for them.
My actinics come on at 10am
MH's on at Noon
MH's off at 8pm
Actinics off at 10pm
Then the moonlights are on until 10am

Your coaralife lights will come with 2 cords,, one for actinics and one for 10k whites. just use 2 timers, one for the actinics and the second for the 10k whites. If you are getting the deluxe with moon lights you will need 3 timers...
Coralife has a nice timer in a power strip. Hope this helped,, good luck
