New Lights

Well one of my bulbs burnt out so I had to order new ones.
How should I acclimate the lighting? I have 2 250w MHs. My old bulbs were CoralVue 14K and my new ones are XM 15K. I still have the good bulb on my tank and I moved all my corals to that side. Should I put one new bulb in, wait a few weeks, then switch the second one?

Id just replace both bulbs.
Use either the screen method by placing 4 layers of screening on the top of the tank and every 5-7 days removing a layer. Or adjust the photoperiod starting with 4 hrs and then adding an hour a week back to original photoperiod.
The side with the corals wont be all that affected by the reduction in lighting.

so you are saying I didnt need to move them all to one side? Because with just 2 bulbs that side was pretty dark. I think even some of the coralline over there is starting to die off.

Sorry I meant once you got the new bulbs, that the corals wouldnt be affected by the use of screening or reduced photoperiod. it probably is a good idea to move them over to the one side until you get the new bulb.

ok my new bulbs should be coming in today. I made a frag rack yesterday and have that sitting near the top of my tank. I also have a florida ric at the top. Would it be smart to move both of those down lower until they acclimate to the new lights?
