aloha, I found a small <1" lion that i havnt been able to identify, It was greenish when i found it but over night in my hospitle tank, it turned dark redish to match a rock.
few questions.
1. I have a medium -large and agresive coral bandit shrimp in my main tank. hes caught small fish(<1/2") and glass shrimp often. Will he kill the lion?
2. I fed it a small glass shrimp caught from the same area. its eaten 1 i think. How long between meals?
3. i was reading other posts on lion fish here, an someone mentioned not using brine shrimp, but gave no explaination. I have some brine that i was going to feed it, but I could use the same tank and drive out to the flats to catch more glass shrimp if brine is not wise.
Ill post a pic as soon as i find where my camera is.

nice lion, peopel say no brine shrimp because it has little to no nutritional value, also once that lion get s a little bigger hes gunna eat the shrimp not visaversa but i would use caution for awhile with them together

Think of brine shrimp as cheetos. Most people love them but no one could live very long eating nothing but them.

They are VERY poor nutritional food.
I agree, eventually this little guy would eat the shrimp!

mmm cheetos. Thats good to know.
im a bit worried that the glass shrimp are still to large. the fish's body is about nickle sized. and the shrimp arn't much smaller, and seem to be to smart/fast for him. (though i think hes just spooked by me or light.)
Any idea what he is? closest picture ive seen is someones avatar i cant find again. but his profile listed fuzzy dwarf as his favorite fish.

cool thanks surfin,
my show tank is 25g with only live rock and a cleaner crew (hermits, the coral banded, and local cowlries) been running for about a month.
ohh and a few pregnant glass shrimp.
I more of an invert guy, the intention of this tank was to keep bobtail squid which is a local grapesize cephlapod
I also keep a large rubber made tub as a tide pool set up. (approxiamtely 100-120gallons)
stocked similar to above but with some tiny bait fish. its a holding tank of sorts and it water is striat from the ocean.
Im also planning a large tank as part of a kitchen island (im an architect), maybe this fish would move that plan along.

pink thing is a smooth rock, with some corline (sp)? its the most non porous rock I could find. ive been cureing a bunch of live rock for my main tank and i didnt like it hiding right next to the pump intake. the fish is so small the magnification makes it look like something else.
