I just put it in the tank.Unless you see something like aptaisia,or a mantis in the rock. These I would remove first, but most hitchikers are hiding deep in the rock and wont come out till it's in your tank. (just put it in)...

You still need to cure it once you get it - even if it is sold as "cured." While curing it look for critters you might not want such as the mantis shrimp, mean little buggers.

The only reason you would have to cure any rock yourself for any time at all is if you are buying UNCURED rock. If you are getting good CURED live rock that has been in an established tank for awhile, you should just put it in your tank...I have never cured ANY rock that I have bought.I also have never had any problems,or ammonia spikes from doing this. Just be sure you are getting cured rock when you pay for cured rock...

Ok the my tank is a brand new tank, So once i get the rock prolly from*****************
Anyone ever get live rock from there? Im using it to cycle my tank with no fish and no substrate so i will basically be like curing it totally. I have a 75gallon tank, what kind of live rock should i get from ********** and how much for a fish only tank. Thanks

Yeah sorry about that, I really don't know if they do or not, check out the site. Looks like they have some great rock. I have heard good things about them also.

dOOkie, I have heard great things about their rock also, lots of life. It is aquacultured rock though, so it will be more dense than Pacific rock. Their rock is not cured, so cycling a new tank would be a good idea. As to what type of rock to get, that may depend on what you want to keep in your tank. If you want predators, you may not want to spend the extra money to get the deco, but if you are leaning toward a reef, than the deco would probably do well. One other thing to consider is that they ship most large orders by air freight. The downside to this is that you have to go pick it up at the airport. It doesn't get delivered to your door. Some upsides of air freight are you get the order the same day it is shipped so it should be fresher since it doesn't have to wait overnight. Also shipping air freight is much cheaper, like $30-$70 per 100 lbs., the closer you are to them the cheaper it is.
