New LR

Hi everyone,
I just received 30lbs of LR from a place on-line. This stuff is great! 4.33/lbs delivered to my door. It has tons of life on it. There is even a clam that is about 2" long that was still alive. The rock is also covered in coraline algea.
Does anyone know of a good website that will help identify life on live rock?
Can't wait to see what comes out when the lights are off.

Trebor,
Did you order the rock from gulf-view.com? I've heard a lot great things about them. I'm thinking of ordering from there myself very soon. :)

Hi OfALegend,
Yes I did order from gulf-view.com. The rock was great. Hardly any die off. As I stated before, lots of life and color. There are alot of white worm like creatures and I have noticed 2 crabs, about 1cm in length.
I would definately order from there again.

Try the hitchiker faq. section at www.reefs.org They have a few pages on hitchikers info. I refer to them everytime I find something new in my tank.

Trebor you will have some die off because of the shear amount of life on this rock. Watch your ammonia levels. The rock does have alot of clams, I actually have small clams attached to larger ones.

Thank for the advice. I plan on doing a water test after work, and possible a water change. I do not have any fish as of now in the tank, just 3 scarlett crabs and 4 snails..
