Still playing around with the the PS lightshop program. I'm trying to focus on the details on a few corals as they are interesting in the texture and compostition.

maxalmon, any time you want to come to FL and take some pictures of my tank to make it look better than it really is would be great haha! Just let me know because then I could just glue your pictures on the back wall of the tank and act like it is as beautiful as your pictures are!
Anyways, in all seriousness, great pictures, you always seem to do great work! Keep it up.

Well done Max! The AoGs, the Jokers, Devils Armor and the Tubs all photograph very well don't they? Some of them display bold colors, others extreme detail & textures....these four for some reason show both very well. Even those new pinks I got, I have yet to capture a thoroughly focused pic I'm happy with and I've shot well over 200 images on that coral alone (unfortunately, I don't get a show-quality pic with every shot like you do....LOL
).
I've actually shown folders of my pics to non-reefers and without exception every one of them stops on these four corals...every time!
Excellent work, as usual...

What are the settings that you're using?I am new to the aperature and shutter speed thing.I just realised how much more I can use a simple digital camera, other than auto focus,so any info would be great
Thanks alot.So long,Pete

Great Pics Max

I'm 2 weeks into playing with my new d40x, I am looking foward to the purchase of a macro lens, I cannot decide on the 50 or 105. The lens is not the problem however... its learning how to duplicate the true colors of the corals under various lighting conditions
. That said I think I need to get up to speed with the photo edting software available.
Are you shooting in RAW, jpeg????.
Your pics are amazing....any software, monitor "crt vs lcd" advise.
