New maroon clown

I need help! I just added a maroon clown to my tank and I want to know if its normal for it to lodge itself between a rock and glass? It's looking aroind often and breathing ok and moving its tail back and forth slowly. I just added some sand after he was already in could dumping sand in water harm him if he's already stress from the move? He seamed to have some bubbles attached to him after I did so but my fire goby is fine...

Not sure i can as I'm on my phone but he's completely hiding himself. I do not have anemones in my tank either..
