Hi all i have been reading around for about 3 weeks now just taking it all in. I am a first time aquarium owner and have had my tank set up for three weeks now. I was given a 55g tank with stand and filter to start with... So i started my cycle 3 weeks ago and must say that i have had a very MILD cycle so far. I check salidity and gravity daily and others weekly. Everything has gone very well so far and i spend ALOT of time reading different threads on here.... Usually hours a day. To start i have 60 lbs of LS and about 20 lbs of LR so far. I cycled with the raw shrimp and some fish flakes. i just bought some LR this past week from my LFS and put it in right away. Well to my suprise i have some thing popping up in my aquarium already.... Being the new guy i have no clue what they are, well a couple i can identify and they are the blue legged hermit crabs but the other things i have no clue but will continue to research. Well i plan to learn from the more seasoned people and look forward to the help! Thanks so far!

as of right now i am planning on just a FOWLR for a year or so until i can get all the upgrades and experience to care for a more elaborate tank. I dont have any pics yet because there isnt much going on just some LR and hitchikers that i aquired. i will try and get some this week though.

i finally took the plunge and added two fish to my aquarium. I kind of aquired them from a very nice and helpful couple that live close by that had LR for sale on CL. I went to get the LR from them because they were moving and decided to piece out the tank. I picked up about 40-50 LBS of LR and asked them about the fish they had. They informed me that everything was for sale so they gave me a BARGAIN on these two beautiful fish. I know one is a Niger but not sure about the puffer. So far they are doing WONDERFUL and i am keeping a "eagle eye" on them.
