New Nano-reef

I've just started my first nano-reef. I had a 10 Gallon tank sitting spare with 1 african cichlid in it. The water was already brackish.
Added Salt at first and checked the water.
These were the reading's.
Salenity : 1.019-1.020
PH = 8.2
Nitrite = 0-0.25
Ammonia = 0
Nitrate = 0-5.0
Then i added about 15lb's of Live sand to the tank (about 5-7 day's later). Only change in the water was that my salenity went up to 1.022 and the PH shot up to about 8.4-8.6 . At the same time I also added a Rio 200 Powerhead.
I plan on adding about 15-20 lb's of Live Rock either tomm or on monday. Same time I will be adding a protien skimmer and new lighting.
Now, the most stupid question :D . I have been using tap water. Should i just go to the grocery store and buy Distilled water from now on ??
Anything else I should do/ensure ???

Congrats for migrating into the saltwaer realm. the type of water you want to buy is Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water. Not natural spring water nor distilled.
Enjoy!
