heres my new nano....its a 5gal. im switching to a glass 5gal so i can build my own stand and canopy.

right now im using 3 13w 6500k compact flourescent. but im switching over to 175w 10,000k mh. im using a lil penguin filter. i have 11lbs of live rock in there and i'm not sure how many lbs of sand.

i dont know if you should use metal halide for a 5g tank. first of all you dont need that much lighting. you can find something cheaper. second, your tank will over heat unless you have a chiller. use a stronger pc like 2 65w fixture or even 2 32w is enough.

I have heard alot about 70W metal Halides. You might wanna check those out instead? Nano light for Nano tank? lol Just a thought.

use the 175W MH, you can always raise the lights higher if's too hot or too intense. Plus you have a lot more options on the corals and clams you can keep.

yes, i still intend to use these lights, but probably 150w intead...though not much difference. i will be using a chiller as well.
