new niger getting bullied by yellow tang

I have a 72 gallon with a small huma huma, a damsel, yellow tang and a newly added small niger trigger. When I added the niger I expected some aggression from the huma huma, but the only fish who went after the niger was my yellow tang. The tang continues to bother the niger by constantly hitting him with his barb. Why the aggression by the tang? Will this stop? The tang is really putting a beating on him. I thought tangs were only aggressive towards other tangs. Is it maybe because the niger looks like a surgeonfish to my tang. If anyone can explain this please help thanks Also I was thinking about adding a snowflake eel, can I expect any problems from my other fish or the tang? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> :) :D

tangs can become territorial & sometimes aggressive; usually calm down after a few days; would be best if the new addition had been about same size as the tang; trigger should be OK if it has a place to stake out of it's own when herrassed too much

I have a niger trigger and a yellow tang in my tank. (my dad put the trig in while i was away) So far no problems with the trigger eating any inverts, but i'll probably get rid of him when he gets bigger
As for experience when they were first added (well a few days after) the tang pestered the trigger incessently, an the trig would just swim away....untill he learned to wedge himself in the rocks and the tang would leave him alone. This went on for a week more or so, and then the tang seemed to just give up....because it could never get him in his hole. Now they rarly fight, they acctually seem to be the closest fish in my tank....but if anything happens...the niger trigger is right back in his hole....end of confrontation. I dont know if this helps, but niger triggers seem to be hardy and innovative...so im sure things will calm down after a week or two.

Thanks for the info, when the triggers get large I have a 90 gal in my house that I'm going to transfer them to. Do you think this is still to small?

I mean a 90 gallon is that to small for a niger and a huma huma? Also, they are babies right now how long does it take them to attain full size?
