New Niger Trigger hides all day.

I got a real pretty Niger Trigger on Saturday. All he does is hide. He has already stirred up the sand and made himself a place to sleep at night. He might come out and swim for a few minutes then if he sees you he hides. Is this normal behavior? I will give him a week then take him back. Has anybody else had this problem?

It's not a problem, it's normal. The trigger just needs to settle in and get comfortable. Once it gets used to its new home it will come out more and more. Nothing to worry about. Just give it time.

Mine did the same thing for the first few days so it's not just you. :joy: I had a pink trigger that was much more skittish than the niger.

Mu huma huma trigger did the same thing. It took him about 2-3 weeks before he got confortable. It's been a couple of months now and when you walk up to the tank really fast he still gets scared and goes in hide. It's just that type of fish's nature. I'm sure he will be fine once he gets used to his new surroundings. Good Luck!

I have the same problem with my Tangs when I get them. There just a little shy at first. Give the fish a few days and it will be fine. I always try to do an extra feeding or two just to get them moving around. Good Luck and let us know how its going.

Master33 I HAD a 87 hatchback. Until someone stole it. It had a 306, cobra intake full exhaust no cats, e303 cam, cobra rockers, 150 shot of juice, 3:73 gears, I can't remember the size of the air flow, and a 70 mm throttle boby. Don't know the H.P. but it was pretty damn fast. Sounds like you have a pretty nice set up! Thanks for the help, he is still being pretty shy. I will give him time though, he is to pretty to take back!
