I wouldn't worry too much either. Mine took about 4 days to fully open. Here's a shot of it opened about a week after I got it (it was purchased some time in June I think).
You should get a SeaSquirt. This is by far the sun coral lover's best friend. It's basically a super-long, skinny turkey baster that makes target feeding corals a pleasure. I used to feed my corals with a clunky tube/enclosed bottle contraption which I thought was so clever until I got one of these. You can squirt exactly how much Cyclop-Eez you want over each polyp without polluting your tank.
