New Petsmart In Town

There is a new Petsmart in town and I was wondering if anyone thought that I should try to apply. I'm sixteen years old. I've checked out their job application in their website but I don't knwo what to do. Does anyone have any opininions or stuff that I NEED to know. Thank You all in advance.

fill out the blanks. if i were you i'd walk in & request it personally. it makes you look more hands-on. fill it out, turn it in, and then get a day & time from them on when you should follow up on the status. DON'T wait for them to call you.

I've never worked for a store like petsmart or anything. I've worked with my aunt at the swap meet since I was 12 then I got a job with my dad as a lumper when I was 14. I was with the lumper people for a year. That job was very exhausting. We would have to go every sunday to the warehouse at 5am and unload an entire 53' truck full of boxes from Home Enteriors. Then when the entire truck was emptied.(like in an 2hours or three) We would have like 700 boxes outside the warehouse since it usually never fit inside. We would have to setup the boxes by number usually from 1 though 99 then load them in one of those UHAUL trucks. While I was inside the truck fixing teh boxes to fit three other guys would have a stack of boxes about 5ft tall and with a dolly shove them up the ramp. We would do like 2-3 uhaul trucks in a day, and we would end up leaving around 7-8 at night. then more Trailers would come in during the weekday and I would take some friends from school and unload the truck. It was so exhausting.
Now I'm working as a Dish Network installer. My dad and I work for two local retail stores and we do perhaps 2 or three installations per week.
If I do end up getting the job is there anything I should know about?

Well I bet they are hiring based on whether you like pets or not. I can tell you from my experience from the Petsmart fish people that it's hit or miss on whether or not they know what they are doing. Based on that, I don't think they care what you know as long as your aren't skiddish in getting a fish out of the tank and possible sticking your hands in the water. ***** probably use the same practices which I will find out soon since I have one opening up here soon. Plus I don't know how they hire by section. They sell stuff for dogs, fish, cats, reptiles, ... so what does that mean. You have to know something about all the pets they sell for. I doubt it! They may ask what you do know and go from there. Just tell them you know how to mop floors

They prefer you know little or nothing, that way you'll believe what they tell you. Simply apply for the aquatic department and list "I have a tank" in the special skills area.
Everyone is trained in all areas, the tests are open book and you can go around the store and look at product labels for answers. You must take the aquatics test to work in that department.

Well I basically have had everytype of pet. I've had
2 dogs
freshwater tanks
Saltwater of course
Cocatails
parakeets
love birds
finches
iguanas
water dragons
red ear sliders
hamster
land hermit crabs
and so on.

Talk to the manager...impress him! And follow up...this makes you look good and it also makes it seem like you really want the job. Good luck!

thanks. Is there a certain way that I should dress. btw I dress sort of like a gangster(sort of) with baggy pants and big shirts. Should I wear a suit? or would I be overdoing it?

i think a suit would be a little over doing it...maybe not toooo baggy jeans and a polo shirt??? something a little nice but not over the top

everyone over hear likes him too. They over do it though. I'm going to a quinceanera(15year olds party) and everyone goes with their hyphy wear and stunna glasses. I haven't seen or known of anyone who have ghost ride their whip which is good.

I was going to go to his concert like last week but he canceled it. which really sucks.
I'll probably will take a polo shirt and like some dockers with TIMBERLANDS!!!

LOL! omg my brother is sooo like that his pink tee, timberlands and" STUNNAS"!..."stupid dumb and hyphy"!!! omg drives me crazy. Around here it's more of a middle school thing... the older kids here are "emo" i should show post my brthers myspace link...i get a kick out of it!
