thanks for the help on id. anyone else.
the LFS near me has two guys that really seem to know there stuff and told me this was a purple LTA. i just thought i would double check.
also i paid 40 bucks for this one is that a good price for a big one like this?? seemed ok to me normaly the ones i see in the store are MUCH smaller then this one

doesnt look like any purple LTA ive seen. LTA's tentacles are mainly all purple and dont have that white in them. i would say 40$ is a good deal for him since it seems rare? what kind of lighting do u have

i did some more research last night
most of the scientific sites i find such as wetweb
say that sometimes they have white streaks that extend into the disk just like this one.
i have 175 MH
