NEW Product! LED lights! Good for reef or FOWLR aquariums?

Done search and could not find LED LIGHTS so I started this thread.
If there is some past thread concerning LED LIGHTS please fix search engine on this forum and sorry to waste your time.
Considering "No heat" "much less energy" and "long life lights" are all very tempting.
Anyone experience with new light product and how do you compare between LED and Metal Halide? Which one win?
Thanks

Not all LED units are the same. The Current Powerbright modules, and the LED tubes are just for looks and don't really produce enough light to sustain corals.
As of now, the best way to light your tank using only LEDs is to build your own fixture with the 3w CREE LEDs or similar. For fully assembled fixtures look into Aquailluminations.

from what i am reading, led lighting is the future. it runs cool and last 50,000 hours on average. most led fixture for 3-5 feet long tanks cost a bundle though, when compared to t5 or mh. i actually got one (powerbrite) over my fuge for $70 a month ago. i'd wait until the technology picks up steam and cheaper b4 looking into it.
