I got a figure 8 puffer! Hes salt is now 1.012... Im changing it to 1.023 over a 4 week period of time. Im going to try to make him able to get along with the fish im getting for my 125. Hes a small puffer that only gets 2''. He would be perfect in my 125. Im going to try it and see what happens. He will be watched when in the tank with damsles first. Then ill put him in a tank with a clown and just experiment. (Hes in a 5 gallon tank) I hope this works~!!!!!!
Ive seen the freshwater eel in a full saltwater tank and be fine so i desided to try it with a puffer.

To start, they won't last very long in full strength saltwater. Their life span is greatly decreased. I would estimate he would only live a year or two in a salinity of 1.025. They do best in sytems which have salintiy of 1.005. They also fare poorly in systems with high pH (over 8.0).

Actually, they can get up to 8" in captivity. They make very poor residents with saltwater fish. I strongly advise you to do a lot of reaserch before you buy any fish.

My salt in my saltwater tank is 1.021... Im chaNGING him into full saltwater over a very large period of time so he slowly gets use to it. It worth a try. They had them in a tank with scats, cichlids, and green puffers and they werent fighting.

Guess their lucky, but im going to try it. If he fights with them then ill lower the salt and just leave him in the FW tank.

They will not last very long in full strength saltwater, no matter how long you aclamate them.

Do you plan on keeping the puffer with out brakish species, such as the ones names above?

*sigh*...I certainly wish you (and the fish/corals/stuff you keep) the best of luck. Seems to me you are more interested in posts and repetitive questions than you are about serious issues. I don't want to flame you or in any way discourage any serious hobbyist...but it seems to me the vast majority of your posts are simply games with no serious intent. From dead/dying anenomes with a serious lack of adaquate lighting(not to mention lack of knowledge about their requirements) to serious issues being able to afford adaquate lighting over a established 40 gal display...to fantasy stocking levels for a fantasy 125...and now attempts to acclimate a fresh water species to a fantasy 125...sorry but this stuff is getting a little old and I'd like to request you either develop a knowledge/experience base...or simply refrain from playing such games. Members here tend to be rather serious about our hobby and to you it seems like a game of hit or miss...sorry if my response has offended you but this stuff is getting real old real fast.
...again I do wish you all the best...but please...play at the school yard and not on our forums!
