I just bought a snowflake eel for my new tank. This is a great creature w/loads of charactor. I added him to a new tank but I am running a matured filter in the tank. My lfs told me its nearly impossible to kill them. They do not seem to need a large cave. Mine just twists around one rock. Pics coming soon.

Oh yea, my lfs said they have found them dried as a piece of beef jerkey and still living. They said they just throw them back in the tank and once they rehidrate(sp?) they are back to normal.

Ive seen my friends eel go up to about 6-8 hours out of the water and recover completely- and quickly.

They are great fish. I would suggest them for any beggener w/the right tank size.

The only time I had one die was when the cat decided it looked tasty.
