I recently purchased and installed a Kent RO35 Hiscl 35 GPD, and installed. I am currently only getting approximately 1.5-2 gallons / day through the unit. I installed it yesterday, and it seemed that it was at least an hour until I got even a drip out of it. I live in a rural area in West central Ohio, have well water, with plenty of rust and mineral content, and doubt that I have the ideal 65 psi to produce the rated output. I have installed per directions and have waste water flow. The only thing I am wondering about is that i took the R/O cartridge out of its plastic sealed bag and installed into chamber on Wednesday (Three days prior to operating). Can anyone give me some feedback here??
Thanks in advance

You should be getting about 1.5 gallons an hour. Check and make sure the membrane is seated properly. Make sure there arent any kinks in the hoses. Is there alot of waste water?

Yes I am getting a steady stream of waste water, no kinks in the hoses. I will check the filter for seating.
Thanks again in advance.

35gpd is not much at all for an RO unit. If you have low water pressure, combined with not so pure water, I wouldn't be surprised at all of your situation with it. Might wanna get a booster pump...and change your filters frequently with all the rust and mineral content.

temperature will also effect output... :notsure:
optimum is 77degrees.
to heat the water before it goes into the unit you could have an extra long tube coiled up into a 5 gallon bucket full of water and a heater... that will heat up the water a bit before it gets to the unit...
i also agree with the pressure as a possible issue... you might need a pump...
try the temperature thing first, its cheaper...
if no, try the pump as well
