New RBTA

I bought a RBTA from LFS and he had them in pots. Do you think it will come out when ready? It has only been in my tank for 2 days. Seemed like a good idea when I bought it. They said it will help him get comfortable in my tank. I know there is not much I can do but just wait. Just wondering if anyone else has ever seen them sold like this. It was from Tropicorium, they are a very well trusted LFS in Michigan. Any comments are welcomed.

When I went to feed it, it was deflated and it looked like it's mouth was wide open. What does this mean? I put a piece of silverside on it. I think he eat some not sure.

pots are new to me, all the ones ive seen are just in tanks without em. they do move but i dont know if he can get out of there or not. imo i would take him out and set him on the rocks...he'll go where he wants to sit. they deflate couple times a week. do you know when he last ate at the lfs? dont over feed them. i feed mine once a week and let the lighting take care of the rest. make sure u have strong enough lights so it'll bloom up

How would you get him out without hurting him? I fed him today.

hmm..yea maybe you can turn the pot on its side and it can just slide out on its own that way, there wont be any light and it will move towards the light. yea i wouldnt pull if its foot isnt letting go

It has been 5 days and it it still in the pot. I still have the pot lying down. I think it looks ok. I fed it a piece of silverside today soaked in zoe. Should I continue to wait for it to come out on its own, or maybe manual removal? It can't be getting any light in the pot. Thanks for any help.

if you want to take him out, try ice cubes in a ziplock back, applied gently to the foot. be careful to not pull on it because if you tear the foot, it will likely get infected and die. i have used this to get anenomes off of rocks before, the pot may be tougher to get in there and do it tho.

I had never heard of this, but yes it would be hard to get in there. If I did manage to get in there would he let go completely or would I still have to pull him off? (carefully of course)

he would start to shrivel pretty quickly and then you can see the foot, working from the outside in and under as he gradually doesnt like the cold spot and lets go of it

Well it has been a week and he is still in the pot. Any suggestions? Is breaking the pot the only way?
