New reef tank

I have no problem telling my age. I've done more things and had more experiences in my lifetime then many people twice my age. Age doesn't have much to do with knowledge either. I was just stating the fact that he wasn't the youngest person on this site.

LOL Seth, "Age doesn't have much to do with knowledge either" I said that once to my future father-in law and was thrown out of his house. Luckily my wife of 30 years didn't agree with his decision.

how old are you?
personaly I would skip the kole tang because a 75 may be a little small
you don't want the rocks to be brown, you want them to be pink/purple with coraline algea
sun coral is non-photosinthetic and is very difficult to keep
the bulbs that come with the nova system suck so get different bulbs
contrary to what most people have been saying I don't see a problem with the blue-chin trigger. the have an upslung mouth and its very difficult for them to eat off the bottom
well here is my little rant (hope it helps)
Didn't you start the age thing?

well finaly someone younger than me on the fourms (I'm 15)
one thing you will learn is that an ounce of percaution is worth a pound of cure
take you time with things and your fish and inverts will live long happy lives
Then kept it going?

can we actually help this guy out instead of arguing about age?
Now reprimand us for our involvement in it?

It's fine I actually havent checked in forever im getting my stuff thermometer, testing kit, poerheads, and lights and by the way what is are diatoms.

Diatoms filters is are like pool filters
they use little crustaion things that strip the water bare and I personaly don't like them

I think he was asking about what diatoms are in a tank - it's the brown algae that you typically see build up in a new system, that quickly go away when they run out of silicates to build their shells with.
Diatomaceous Earth filters are like pool filters that can be used on aquariums - typically very large aquariums, as water clarifier (sp?) before photo shoots. Those filters pass water through Diatomaceous Earth which strips the water of any bacteria, cloudiness, or particulate matter - and they are a pain in the butt. lol!!!

Mandarin dragnet, needs a lot of LR 150lbs or better that is well established with pods and a refum to grow more pods.
Blue throat trigger, needs a larger tank 125 or better and will eat all your crabs and shrimp and possible the other fish except wrasse.
Melanurus wrasse, will compete with the mandarin for copods.
The rest of the fish are fine.
Also should only keep one type of anemone per tank.
Just my 2 cents.
