helped my buddy tear down his 60 gal hex. he gave me his LR, about 30lbs. all he had was 2 damsels and the tank was kinda dirty. as i was pulling out the rocks and inspecting them i noticed some grey colored slug like, centipede like, worms with short white arms. i killed alot of them with a razor knife and a pair of hemo stats ( dont ask, lol ) . i put the rocks in a tote covered in his tank water. any ho, the rock is in my DT and i already pulled out 2 more and still see more when i feed.
how BAD are they? and what exactly are they? will try to get a pic if i can. they are 100% grey with short white appendages. some i killed were fat like slugs and some are thin like worms. should i bait a soda bottle trap?
Beth ! Bang! someone help...

This is no where near finished, but where you have no pictures are asking about multiple things... maybe look down through THIS thread and see if you can find what you are looking for. Let us know what you see!

I pluck any big one out when I see it. I would never tear a tank apart to get it. Sometimes I get 'em....... sometimes he scores. I know there's a coupe of whoppers in with a little 1.5" bottom dweller. I would love to catch them..... but I am in no hurry.
I thought you were talking about multiple critters.... my bad.

Hot water to stop the burning and use duct tape etc to pull out the spines.

I had these guys in my tank. I think they've pretty much died off now, but I have had a big one lurkin in my 30 gallon and never have been able to get him. I got home the other day and he was actually out crawling on the sand, so I scooped him up with my net. He had to be about 4" long!!! I took him to my LFS to share, haha. Some people say they're good, some people say they're bad. I would just prefer to get rid of them, lol.

if your in fear of adding these critters to your tank you can do a fw wash on the rocks (i do this right in the bathtub)this will irradicate them.it may effect some good things in the rocks but you cant pick everything out to know whats what..but use rubber gloves when handling the rocks
