New safety precaution in my tank (UPDATED!!!)

I decided to take another safety precaution in my tank... I raised my power strip so it is not on the floor... now I don't see why I didn't do it earlier. It took me no more than 15 minutes but it could save me or my family or my fish from being electrocuted by electricity. I recommend others who didn't to it already to do this too.

Traveler,
You are right to want to get it off the floor...but my dear, it is still in danger where you have it.
Most power strips have a way to hang them with one or two screws. I hung mine UP and next to the tanks, anything under the tanks are in danger if a leak or spill should occure.
It isn't the best picture, but on the right you can see the black power strip...those are all GFCI outlets as well.

You need a "drip loop" in all your cords. At least one of your cords in the pic does not.

Rearrange...the tank could leak or overflow and the electric just below it is not in a safe place...put the power strip on the wall next to the tank so if it floods, it can't get wet. GFCI outlets are also a must for safety IMO.

Dunno, I don't think I would ever mount the strip on the wall behind the tank. I have a couple fish, a 10.5" puffer in one tank, a large Crosshatch trig in another, that are quite capable of splashing the wall behind the tank, and certainly can get a little frisky at feeding time and have done it several times. I have all my strips mounted to the top side of the stand, under the tank.
