In a matured/cycled tank, you will show NO ammonia at all and at the end of cycling you should have some nitrates-the end product.
Your bioload could be small for the size tank you have, but still the ammo should read 0 before you put anything in.
It is important to monitor the progress of your tank as it cycles to make sure that it is, in fact, cycling. You should have seen an ammonia spike, followed by a NitrITE spike, those two gradually diminishing to 0. Then, normally, you will show some NitrATES.
It is hard to say at this time if you have cycled or not-unless you followed the process through, though six weeks is certainly adequate time for cycling. I suggest waiting and testing each day to see if your ammonia reading changes in either direction-
Are you going to keep your damsels or return them for credit?
