I just got a scooter blenny from the LFS. The manager gave me a rundown on the little guy, but do any of you have any special instructions or experience with them?

They bite! LOL Was placing some mysis in anemone and the little (actually now big) bugger darted out and bit me. Obviously not painful just startled me as he normally had never came near. Mine eats about everything mysis silversides bloodworms

Scooter blennies are hard to keep unless you have a ton of copepods. I have found out the newbie way. They rarely eat anything but pods. Hope you have 50+ LBS of live rock and up for over a year? I have a 92 Corner with 120 lbs of LR and a 30 G fuge with pods and I am going to wait atleast 1-1.5 yrs to get another blennie. I am 4 months now.

Haha really? that’s funny. My blenny just seems to "flutter" about the tank. I couldn’t imagine him making a lunge! my false percs on the other hand, they nibble at my fingers all the time--i think its pretty cute.

haha no, i dont have anything near that. I have seen pods in my tank, but not admitidly enough for him to survive on. the guy at the LFS said they are hard to train on flake, but that if there arnt enough pods then they'll eat brine shrimp and the like... is this not so?

Usually not, I found out the hard way
I was never told by my lfs that scooters thrived on mostly pods, mine would eat nothing but pods, he slowly starved to death, I thought 100lbs of LR would be fine for pods, but without a fuge, he must have depleted the supply in the rocks.
