Oh, I almost forgot. I was wondering if anyone can PM me a good example of a pump regulator to regulate the flow of my open air line? Ive tried looking, but I must not be looking for the right thing, cause everything I bring up is very expensive and doesnt look like it is for a fish tank, more like for actual water lines! lol

what I use is a plastic valve that fits on the air line, it has a knob you turn to regulate. In this pic its what is attached to the end. I use them to acclimate fish too. I just cut the air line close the the pump, and put the valve in there. I can get pic of mine if you need them. I got a whole package at petsmart for about 4 buks.

No other pic needed, that is very helpful! Yeah the stuff I was finding way WAY different then that. haha If it was only 4 bucks then I will just check for one the next time I make it to PSP, rather than try to find one cheeper online. Heck I think I have seen something like that at walmart. Thanks again!

One more stupid question. I have one of those things close to the pump that doesnt allow the water to return back into the pump in case of a power outage or whatever. Which side of that should I put my valve on, or doesnt it really matter?

FINALLY have substrate!!!!! Looks like a completly different tank! Gonna let it cycle itself since I added so much to it, then make my decision on what kinda tank to go with! Leaning towards horses at this point! Anyways, here it is!

Hi,
LOL....Everything you add will give it a whole different look...its always a treat to sit back and just admire your handy work.
Okay...if the tank is for Seahorses the heater could be a threat, also horses like it cooler not warmer. I keep mine between 71 and 75 degrees. I use spray bars for water circulation and a bubble line. Seahorses need hitches and a small bowl to teach them to go to a feeding spot...So you need to kind of change the decor to suite them better.
I love my seahorses, they are so full of personality.

Just wanted to stop in and say GOOD LUCK! you should definitely go with the seahorses dude. And i admire you for having that courage! I've always wanted them but i'd have to get a whole new tank and its too much work :( I'll keep reading this though to make sure you get them and to see what they look like in the tank!! They're so awesome!!

HI. Does look like things are really comming along. I am in the set up mode also. and i think i just completed my cycling. I had started a post about being a newbie and cycling. The folks here have been a great help. In my post I have included pic's. of my set up. I need to get rid of my heater also , and may even neen a chiller, even with my low lighting the tank is too warm.
Being I have already started my post , and had it answered i guess i need to start a new one with a diary of how things are going
Good luck with your new tank, GO FOR THE HORSES, (LOL)
be safe and God Bless
