please give me some advise on how to lower my nitrites!!level is 0.50. 55gal 2damsels 1banded crab hemitcrabs magnum350 filter 1 whisper filter can anyone help this 1st time owner? thank you!!!!

Patience!!! Let your tank cycle. Look at your tank as a fine wine...It gets better with age...dont rush it your tank will cycle.

the best advise IMO is to "be patient"!!! it will cycle.how long has the tank been set up and what is your ammonia level?

My tank has been cycling for about 5 weeks now...and things are almost just right... but I am still gonna wait a couple more weeks before I add anything...it takes time!

dsb=deep sand bed (substrate)
cc=crushed coral (substrate)

oh!! i gotcha. gravel bed.no liverock or sand.1whisper filter,1 magnum 350 filter.

Get some live rock in there. And consider live sand as a substrate...i just got rid of the cc in my tank of 8 years...Man what a dif it makes not only on appearence but filtration!
