If your stand is a box with an open front, you are going to need to add a face fram in order to place door using hinges. Use the same type of wood you built the stand out of, and use 2 1/2" or 3 1/2" wide boards to build your face frame out of.

you are not going to leave the stand wide open are you? If you are not then I would suggest the same wood but you want the air flow down there if you are going to have lights for a fuge so nothing gets too hot. I learned the hard way. I installed 2 120V fans blowing air in and air out for my lights. That's just a suggestion. I wired them right into the plug for the lights so when the lights are on the fan is on.

you could put a set of acordian doors or a slider somethi g with easy access. Just an ideA. Or you can put another pics of wood right down the center and put 2 doors in that way. Or one big door and hinges go onto the side wall. Its really up to you.

If your pretty handy then instead of me trying to explain the physics of it, go look at something like your kitchen cabinets or bathroom vanity. They are good examples of face frame cabinets.
two popular methods are using dowel to join the pieces, or a pocket hole jig.
Your just basically joining a top and bottom to three pilars. Pillars will run up the sides and in the center if you choose to add a center.
Then after the pieces are joined and sanded, stained, and poly'd just mount to the stand.
Use same pocket hole method from inside the stand to mount the face.
***Dont mount doors until the face is finished and mounted to the stand, this way your not fighting for space to try and drill from inside. Also this lets you center the doors better.
Next mount your doors to the face frame with typical cabinet hinges. Hundreds of styles to choose from at any hardware store.
Hope this helps, nice work so far.
