Hey,
Just got back from the not so local lfs and brought back an Elegance coral, a 6-Line Wrasse and a Peppermint Shrimp. In the process of acclimating them so had a few minutes to share! :D

Hey,
I just wanted to thank EVERYONE who suggested a 6-Line Wrasse as a must have for a reef tank. He is soooo cool. He's only been in there a couple hours, and I only turned on the actinic's, but he's already out and about. I can't believe some of the cracks he fits through. Saw a little blizzard off to one side and then saw him come through a tiny crack. He forced all the stuff that had settled back there out into the water column. What a nice little cleaner he is.
Thanks again! :D

Hey,
Oh geez, I hope the elegant isn't hard to keep. I went to a different lfs a couple weeks ago and explained my set up and told them I wanted something that was basically bullet-proof and needed no special feeding. They recommended the flowerpot. Something in the back of my mind said "danger!" so I pushed them about how hardy they are. They claimed nothing but happy customers and that they had this one for a couple months, blah, blah blah. I bought it like an idiot. I got home and dug through my books. One said it was hit and miss, the other said stay away. Then I checked here. @#$%^&! I called them back and they stuck to their story and refused to take it back. I feel like I have a ticking bomb in my tank. Now I may have two? Argggggg!

Flydan -- feed your elegance about once every couple weeks. Mine likes my homemade fish/shellfish sampler. Will also accepts silversides. This will definitely help overall health and well-being of your elegance.

Hey,
Thanks. I will direct feed it from time to time. I actually enjoy doing that. I wouldn't want to have to do it every day, but once every other week is fun. While I'm at it I feed the brittle stars and the shrimp. I also heard you can direct feed mushroom corals. I'll try that next time too.

Hey,
Thanks for the tip on putting it in the sand. Unfortunately I need to keep it near the top due to crappy lights. It's doing very well though. It opens up much bigger than when I saw it at the lfs. It's about the size of pancake when fully opened. It is by far the most beautiful coral I've seen.

flydan,
maybe you'll be allright, the most you can do is the best you can. but I would quit taking advise from the LFS. they are beautiful corals though. best of luck.
