You might want to think about putting a small fan in front of the first ballast pointed away from the vent to blow cool air over them. They are pretty close to the ceiling from what I can tell and you may get a burn mark or too. Just a thought from what I can see. Waiting to buy a house and getting the same thing going! Hard part is finding the right place in so california.

Really looks sweet, love that drain pan,I have something similar under my tank but never thought of adding a drain, hope you get some help and get it going this weekend. On your equipment list I would opt for 2-3 smaller heaters as opposed to one big one,if one sticks on or fails it isnt as catastrophic as the loss of your only heater would be. I would also opt for live rubble instead of the bioballs though they will work fine they will need to be cleaned periodically. Finally with all the fancy equipment you may as well go the last mile and get a reef controller this will save you a ton of trouble, eliminate all timers and take care of any issues with heat/chill,unless you allready have one on your list and I didnt notice it,good luck.

about those maxi-mods on a wave controller...
i am running a redsea wavemaker pro and tried to put modded maxi-jets on it. unfortunately you will want to kill yourself after about 2 minutes of them running because of the anti-reverse rotate features. they click constantly every time they turn on or shutoff and most of the time there is a 5 second "zeeerrrrrrp" as they're spinning up and the propeller sets its self. i just replaced the mods with plain old unmodded maxi 1200's and am much happier.
the other option you have is to use either a seio or the new korlia wavemakers. they are built for propeller pumps. so instead of turning the pump all the way off they just cut down to 30% power when "off", just enough to keep the prop spinning and then ramp them back up to 100% power when they're "on".
btw, i love the glass-holes overflows! im running the 700gph kit on my rig and its top notch, you'll be very happy!
good luck, the build looks amazing!

I do not think im going to use the mods. They are pretty loud, and I think the regular 1200's will do just fine. They do work really well in water mixing bins and I always seem to have those everywhere

R/O water will start pumping in sunday!

thats the worst part isn't it. sitting and staring blankly into a garbage can while that tiny tiny bit of water slowly dribbles in. your eyes start to play tricks on you... is it half full or half empty?
