My big tank has finally finished it's cycle (after 3 months!!!). Before I add the new inhabitants, I want to break in my QT tank (10 gallons). If I use the shrimp method, how long should I leave the shrimp in? Until it decomposes? or a set amount of time? Please advise.
until your nitrates peak, then you can remove them, nad the pumps, filters and anythign else in the tank, will hold the bacteria, all you use the shrimp for is to decompose enough to start your ammonia, and nitrates
