Here it goes:
Generic Starphire glass, 72x30x25.
Overflow centered on rear glass, 20"x6".
3 holes in overflow box: 1 1/2" bulkheads (2 durso drains, 1 return)
2 closed loop drains (strainers) on either side of overflow box(on back glass), 8" from bottom glass (2"bulkheads)
8--1" holes for closed loop.
See picture.

Your plan looks solid.
The overflow is setup the same way as the one on my 150 (2x 1 1/2" drains and 1x 1 1/2" bulkhead for return plumbing). Latino277, running the return through the overflow box is a great way to prevent plumbing return pipes over the top of the tank, especially when Eurobracing is used.
8x 1" CL returns...hmm....is there an OM 8-way in your future??? :D :D :D

8 way OM...yes! How did you know? I am going to try installing eyeball type spa jets for the closed loop to direct water to certain areas around the tank. what do you think of the overflow box? Too big?
1 1/2 drains able to handle 2000GPH return?
how far from the edges should the holes for the closed loop be located? I assume too close to the joint would be pushing it, right?

1 1/2" drain will do ~1300gph...two of them would work or a 2" will handle 2400-2500gph...
The hole should be a distance equal to the diameter of the hole, from the edge to "safely" avoid cracking issues...

OK... cool I'm learning somthing for my new tank!!!
so How do you get the return onto the DT from inside the overflow.... drill a hole on the side and plum it out word with bulkhead???
sorry for the stupid ???? I have an external overflow in my current display and thinking of getting a new DT. thx

Ok... I understand that. 2 holes drian into your sump/fuge and then you return pump pump the water through the 3rd hole..... but how do you get this return water out of you overflow... you can't just leave it there because you will end up just cycling the same water through your sump/fuge. so how do most people plum there return if it is in the overflow???

in this pic... you can see the overflow in the middle (teeth)... my return line comes up... gets split by a tee... and then locline goes out either side so i can aim the flow

Sorry to momentarily hijack your thread spmnarciso...
Kip,
Have you experienced any problems with the Loc Line sucking in air where it runs above water and create micro bubbles in the tank?
