I just started playing around with saltwater tanks and i got a billion questions........... I got a little 10G with 4 Damsels; Blue, Domino, 4 Stripe and 3 stripe. My final goal is to get a couple Lionfishes and maybe a clownfish or two, or an eel, like everyone knows possibilities are endless. I was hoping somebody wouldn't mind helping me, i got AIM = anai95 , Yahoo messenger = warlockgp and MSN = zurcruz@hotmail.com. I also got ICQ but i don't remember the #, If someone wouldn't mind helping me Plz oh Plz let me know.
Thanks so much..........
My e-mail is anai95@cox.net just in case.

Kool, thanks guys............ Or girls.........
I was thinking a 50G, i'm just getting the Dwarf Lions or the Fu Man Chu one. Would i be able to use regular gravel on the bottom (Making sure it's saltwater OK), and then topping it off with so good LS (Live Sand, i hope). Would it be ok to have coral in the tank with the Lionfish?, some people said yes some said no, and last question for this time: I was planning on using a Penguing 330 and a powerhead for better water movement and i was wondering if i could use an undergravel filter with the live sand or is it just gonna get sucked up by the pump?
Thanks ahead of time.........

A dwarf will do ok in a 50 but you'll be limited to tank mates.
I would stay away from the underground filter and anything other than aragonite sand for a substrate. Especially if you decide to have corals in the future.
You can keep lions with corals but you'll have to keep nitrates under control. Ditching the UGF will help.
I would use live rock and a skimmer for filtration.

the above post are right you can get alot of good advice on here...and so you don't regret it later the one rule is ask before you buy!...
first thing you need to do is decide what exactly your gonna want to keep....you said you want "a couple lionfish and maybe a clownfish or two, or an eel"...ok the clown fish would most likely be eaten by a lion or an eel...and also a 50 gallon would be too small for 1 let alone multiple lions (1 fu man chu could work)...so if you'd really like a lion(s) and an eel you should be looking at a 75gal+ tank (for multiple lions you'll need to go bigger)...i have a 75 with a lion and a eel and i really like the combination so that is one way to go...
as far as gravel i would say no...
for a substrate a dsb is my prefrence along with lr and a good skimmer...i've used these as my only fistration for the last 5 years with great success...
so just ask tons of questions and decide what you really want before you start buying things...once you've decided what you want in the tank we can give you more specialize help...

why not both?
personally i always use dsb and lr with a good skimmer on all my tanks...when i first started and before i did some research i used just a whisper filter and ended up loosing a few fish...my eel was the only surviver (looking back i don't know how he stayed alive!)...anyway there may be some who have setups that use mechanical filtration so hopefully someone else will post and give you more info on that... i'm just not a personal fan of it and i prefer the look of the dsb and lr. to me it looks more natural...
if you don't get any replies about mechanical filtration try doing a search...
