new tank ordered, problem

Hello again,
I ordered this 92 gallon corner tank online and it just came today. After inspection to my horror I found a very small 1 inch crack in the glass on the bottom. Is there anything I can do to fix this w/o shipping it all the way back to New York for replacement.
Thanks,
Ben

I agree there is to many things that can go wrong if the tank has been cracked before. also think of this after adding sand, rock, and water the weight of it all might be to much and then you have a lot bigger mess than if you would have just sent the tank back for a replacement.

Yeah, you're right, the weight will put a ton of stress on that. Thanks for the input. I think it's more frustrating than anything. I had to call the shipper and now file a claim, take pictures, ship it back, and wait for the new tank to get here. I guess that's where patience is suppost to come in.. thanks again for the advice ya all.

This is a good time to read a book and more posts. Make a list of what type of fish you want and research for compatability.(splg)

Hopefully they are paying for the shipping to return it and to send you another. Or at least reimbursing you for any costs that you may have incurred. That is if they have good customer service.

Update,
It turns out I was freaked out for nothing. What looked and felt like a 1-2 inch small crack in the bottom corner turned out to be some kinda of epoxy spill shaped like a crack. When I took a razor blade to it, it rubbed off. Talk about a sigh of releif and at the same time laughing at myself a bit :p I'm going to start on this tank this weekend.

Don't feel bad, I had to check all the new tanks coming into the LFS I worked at in high school, and I did the same thing once. I could have sworn there was a crack and it turns out it was just the tank epoxy that drizzled on the tank. :D
