Hi, I currently have a 46galbowfront reef setup, I just purchased a new 110gal reef ready tank with sump, tank will be ready in 2 weeks, this is how I plan to do the turnover from the 46 to the 110gal tank, first I will cycle another 50lbs of fiji rock in a pail for 2 weeks, then I will fill 12- 5gal pails with ro/di water total of 60 gal, then the night before I pick up the new tank I will remove all the rock and corals and water and place them in 5gal bukets, I might even do that right before I pick up the new tank, then once the new tank is in place I will add the live sand or argonite from the old tank 3 bags worth to the new tank plus another 2 bags of live sand since it is 110 galons total of 5 bags, then I will add the 50 lbs' of live rock that was in the old tank and the additional 50 lbs that have been curing in the plastic pail, then I will slowly add the corrals and inverts and fish to the new tank, my question is this, how much of a cycle will my new tank go through will there be one and if there is how long will it take for the tank to recycle, since I am adding all the live sand and rock from the established tank will it help at all with the new tank, if it does cycle somewhat will my corals and critters die, my old tank has been up for one year now and everything in the tank looks happy, except the tight quarters they have to live in, thats why I got them the 4 bedroom instead of the 1 bedroom aprtment they have now, joke, the other thing is how much salt will I have to add to the additional 60 galons of ro/di water, thanks again.
