mystic, sorry some of the others are being so nasty to you. I had the same thing happen to me when I first joined and I almost wished I hadn't, but I have learned an INCREDIBLE amount here. And by the way, I use tap water and my water is fine, tests fine and is clear.So despite what most will tell you here, it has been my experience that using tap water is fine, but then again my city has the cleanest water in the state. :joy:

Wow! I agree that there is no such thing as a good short cut!
BUT remember he has a fish only system, fake corals ect!
I did see someone say use some carbon in your filtering system, i think that would help to clear the water too!
I do have to say I would have waited to add fish! But that is how i am!

most tap water is ok. but Cl residual is not and will kill fish.Tapwater has to be dechlorinated prior to using. It really does pay to use RO water this way other pollutants like nitrate, metals etc will not be a problem. your fish will thank you for it! please dont skimp on water quality.
