My first tank ever was a 25g reef tank, and after a year and a half i'm looking to upgrade to a 55-60 gallon tank...I really would like to get a larger size fish (show fish) but am having problems on "tank size recommendations"....Does anyone know of any larger size fish (tangs, angels, butterfly's;any larger fish pretty much) that would do well in a 60 gal reef tank..Thanks alot

Im sorry but I have to agree with everything that sammy told you insted of putting big fish in such a small tank get a bigger tank like a 90 or 125 something around there and the spend the money on the fish you really want. this way they will have enough room and you will not be critisized by other's in the hobby. Me personaly i have a 125 with all my larger fish in that and my origanal tank wich is a 45 with clowns damsels ect.
The reason for the damsilles is to cycle the 175 bow front i am going to put in my wall in my new house.

I have a new tank currently 4 weeks in cycle. It is 30 gallons and I am trying to decide what kind of fish to put in it. Any suggestions? It has an eclipse 3 filtration system and has 1 20 watt power-glo lamp and 1 20 watt marine-glo lamp. Any feedback would be appreciated. This is my first marine aquarium

first of all you should never worry about being criticized by anyone in the saltwater game. no flame intended. secondly its your time and money were talking about, truly a nice show fish would do better in a larger tank but it all depends on you. sammy is right a 90 wouldnt be much more and it would fit in same space.
always think of the potential size of the fish your gonna buy and go from there the bigger the better.

If your like most people you will always want a bigger tank than you have now. So go buy a bigger tank than a 55.
