New tank starting - Live Sand Question - Which is best?

Hey Again All,
I am gearing up to finally start putting the water/live rock/sand in my new tank to get the cycle going and just had a question for everyone about what type of sand you all use. I am going to buy live sand and have been reading good things about the sand provided by Caribsea. After checking out several websites I was wondering if you guys had a preference as there are several different kinds, many having different grain sizes. I am thinking about the Arag-Alive Special Grade Reef Sand because it has a larger grain size ( from 1.0 to 2.0mm) which is supposed to be good since it doesn’t stir up as much as smaller grain sand.
Once the tank is established, I plan on getting a goby or two or even a starfish eventually. I just want to make sure the sand I buy now will be suitable for these guys, or if you had any other recommendations. I have read some smaller grain sand is harder for them to sift through and obviously stirs up a lot so I thought I would ask you guys advice!
Also while I’m asking questions…for my initial cycle of the tank, do I just leave my powerheads on and not my sump setup?
Thanks as always!

You are going to eventually colonize bio filtration in any area that gets nutrient rich water IMO you loosing nothing by running your sump as well as power heads. If anything IMO by just running your power heads you will most likely develop the nitrifying bacteria initially in your power heads and if for some reason in the early stages of your tank you remove the power heads you run the risk of taxing your bio filtration

Thanks for the input Joe!
Makes sense what your saying. Any input in regards to the live sand?
