new tank

how is this set up? am i missing anything before i start cycle? :joy:
-25 gal tank
-30 lb fiji live rock
-live sand
-Penguin 200 BIO-Wheel Power Filter up to 50gal
-protine skimmer (yet to decide model,up for suggestions)
-24" Dual Satellite 2x65W SunPaq w/Lights

Sounds like a good setup. A good skimmer for this tank would be a CPR Bakpak. Relatively inexpensive and a good skimmer for smaller systems.
You will need a heater as well!

you may find that you'll want a little more rock, but that amount is fine. i have an aquac remora hang on skimmer on my 29 gallon and it's great. look on that big auction board to get a good price. enjoy!

:thinking: thanks for the comments and sugestions. I got another question, do you think i can put some lion fish in the tank,or is it too small of a tank, and if so what are their tank mates?

you could try a dwarf lionfish but you would need to switch to a bigger tank later on. if not a dwarf i would keep any lionfish in less than at least a 55 gallon tank.

Get a couple of Maxijet 600 or 900 powerheads. On the live rock, consider getting some good base rock to add to what you've got. Much cheaper than live rock, and it will turn into live rock in six months. Just be sure you get something nice and porous. Check with your LFS.
