hey i just started adding stuff to my tank... empty for 2 months then added a bleny... now have shrip, hermit crabs and clown. i only have like 4 punds of rock in my 14gal,,, wat can i do to save money,,,tanl fully cured fish are all doing fine,,,, can i add some rocks from my freshwater tank that are big and nice to this one after i clean them? im planning to buy a VERY small rose anemine and ALOT of coral after they get seteled. im planing on breeding clowns and selling clone anemones

I would buy new cured live rock, you don't need that much so it shouldn't cost that much. I wouldn't put the rock from the fresh water fish into my salt tank. You could make your own rock and cure it. It will take about a month total to cure.

Most F/W rocks are very dense and wouldn't serve the purpose of what the LR is for, to act as a colonization media for benificial bacteria and denitrator. The only rock that is porous enough beside LR would be lava and I do not believe it is safe for reef tank. I could be wrong there though.

Id suggest just to go out and buy the good stuff as for a nano tank you dont need that much rock meaning it wouldnt cost much to stock it with the correct rock. Don't skimp here this is a very important addition to a working system.

+1-for sure not the place you want to skimp. LR is the backbone of a reef system.
