Hello,
i figured i would intro myself and what i keep. Im very new to the salt water world. Ive kept freshwater for years and decided to try out a salt tank. A friend of mine gave me the Eclipes 12. I know alot of people dont like this tank and after doing some research ive found out why. Ive had this tank setup and runing for about 4 or 5 months and its doing great so far.
Spec:
Eclipe 12
Standard Filter
Powersweep 214 powerhead
Heater
Fish:
3 Stripe Damsel
Yellowtail Blue Damsel
Inverts:
Tiny Scarlet Hermit Crab

I would like to add some live rock and maybe a new fish but dont wanna over do it. Its been running so good for this long and i havent had any troubles witht he tank or the fish.

welcome and it's great to see someone who's doing some research before going crazy and killing (or torturing) some live stock. Best thing to do is just read and read and read posts on here. There's is such a crazy amount of info in here. Look in the archives. Pretty much any of the best threads are put there.

Welcome!
IMO, there is a way to make basically any tank work - so long as you respect your limitations.
There are lots of DIY mods for eclipse systems, so that is a good avenue of research.
Just so you know, and from my experience, you have two fish that will dominate that tank. In fact, in time, the striped will kill the blue, and that will be all you get. I had a striped in a 15g (had him for years) and he attacked me when my hand was in there. They are highly territorial. But they are hardy and entertaining, so you may wish to add some LR, perhaps consider a mod to keep soft corals, and you will have a nice nano tank

You may want to try in the nano forum who are people keeping tanks in that size range.

(shhh...may not be in this case, but in professional displays where they can be removed, they are bleached)

As ophiura stated where i work we bleach all fake rocks but in this little tank i havent had a problem yet (knocks on wood). With the power going i dont really have a problem. There almost as clean as they where when i put them in.
