Welcome to the boards, by the way. I will try to help you by helping you from the knowledge I have gained from over a year on these boards and caring for my tank.

ihaven't bought anything at ***** yet. it's too expensive , plus selection is not as large as it is in one of our local pet stores. unfortenutly we don't have Petland here in town. they closed it years ago.
im actually pretty happy with help and service i get at Pet zone!their fish are healthy, and they order them by request. i think that's pretty cool!

4 being new at the hobby, I think you are doing a very fine job. I was wondering if your crabs would be safe in an aggressive tank ?

I think you are off to a go start.
Aquarium Concepts have very nice corals.
Their main problem is they mostly are large and now I don't have anymore room for more.
Pet Zone gets some in That are nice, but you need to get them soon after they arrive because there lights want keep them that long.

Well Good Luck And keep the questions coming. This board is great. Also go check out the reef tanks and nano forum on here.

as far as filtration, i'm running a topfin 30 and a penguin bio-wheel 200 both with carbon cartridges, should i run something diferent ,instead of carbon??
I've read that carbon removes some of the needed trace elements for corals to florish??? maybe changeing to canister or wet-dry system ??

easier to make a sump/refugium when you're ready. you should think of a skimmer if you don't have one.

What is that dragony-looking fish on the bottom? What does it eat? What is that plastic thing on the inside of the left side of the tank - it's not a hydrometer is it?

that's a scooter blenny.
in his tank, its a problematic fish, but is easier to keep alive than a mandarin.

nope, that's a swing arm one and you keep it out of your tank. there are intank ones, but they are long thin bulb ones.
either way, throw it out and get a refractometer :)

Oh, nevermind. LOL I've helped people before... I know more than newcomers do.

BTW, I went ahead and took that coral to a new home.
