Well one thing about it. There is no way that you can screw up with tangs in your 155 or 180.

Welcome to the boards, happy to have you.
Always happy to have more people with more unique information.

Welcome hunny!
Now everyone, don't be nice just because he's my hubby, beat him up!
ok......
I had heard that you are slower on the track than she is. Care to explain? LOL
I look forward to helping you and the missus move the fish over to the new place whenever it happens.
As a car guy, what is your car? Are you a ford, chevy, or mopar guy? Whats your dream muscle car? For me, its a '72 Corvette LT4 (i think its the LT4) with the 454 and sidepipes. Something about sidepipes and a real motor to make those things sing. If $ were no object, then yea, get me a Shelby, but money is always tight.

We're import brats.
It's all Honda for him, specifically Honda Preludes. He loves the build them and let other people race them. He's never put his prelude on the track....

He has to have some kind of muscle car dream. And rice burners dont count. Even though the wife's Odyssey has some kick to it with its 3.6 6, I have taken a few people to school with the family truckster. The best was a suped up civic. The guy was reving that lawnmower and giving me some looks. I pointed at the light and turned off the traction control. As soon as it turned green, I floored it. About 2 seconds later, he was in my rear view mirror. Dont worry about this honey, the kids wernt in the van with me at the time.

LOL, we don't drive suped up rice. He does serious, legit builds on them, not bolt on E-bay garbage, LOL
I was a MOPAR girl, and still am at heart, but he's converted me. I would give my left kidney for a 1969 Dodge Charger.
He likes the 68-69 Camaro SS, but we're both really into pro build imports.

If you cant put an Edlebrock in it, its not worth driving really.
How about a monster Miata? I have seen a few that have shoehorned a 289 under the hood on those. Its an import (sorta) with a small block 8. Talk about your horsepower to weight ratio, LOL!
Imports will never match up to the beautiful songs sung from big block 8s.

Oh, I agree. Imports will never sound as good as a good old big block.
But, I've seen some pretty mean imports take down some big power american muscle. I'm not talking about your ricer teenage idiot who slaps on an exact, adds some neons and a bigger air filter and thinks his car is the $hit, LOL

without NOS, I just dont see imports as a threat to detroit muscle. It could be because of where I grew up and the culture there, but imports are just plain junk in my mind. Then again, i drive a mazda (used to, stoopid frame rusting out) and the wife loves her honda. I do have to say, aside from the 87 celebrity, this mazda has been the best car to me. It has never needed anything more than routine maintenance (except for the frame rust, but what do you expect for purchasing a southern car and driving it around in the north?) and has never given me grief. The only other car I can say that about is the Celebrity. I miss my celebrity, silly little 2.5 4-tech engine that was supposed to die at 100K and I put on 150K to it. If I didnt wreck my 97 sunfire, It would probably be the top car in my life. I didnt have it that long and it didnt give me grief when I did have it. Well, there was that stoopid govenor at 109.

I will actually never buy another american car since I switched to Honda. My Pontiacs and Dodge's all had nothing but wiring issues and motor/transmission issues. My Fiero was a nightmare. The lights would turn on, even if the key wasn't in the ignition. It would be 4am and all of a sudden the ******** lights turned on, or the head lights would flip up and turn on. Blew the motor in that baby. Had a new motor put in and had nothing but issues. Then owned a Plymouth Duster. Went through 2 auto trannies in under 18 months. Then I had a Sebring, flying pile of junk. Then a Pontiac Grand Am. I begged for a Grand AM and boy and I sorry I did. That car was an electrical and mechanical nightmare. It was the last American car for me. My honda's have NEVER given me even half the issues my american cars did.
I'm all for buying American, but for me, from personal experience, they're just not the same. I beat the hell out of my accord and it's wonderful. Oil changes and I'm basically good to go. It helps that hubby was a Honda mechanic.
I'd imagine that growing up in Detroit would make you biased to US cars, but they just don't do it for me. Now, give me a older Dodge, I'll take that any day, but not as my daily driver.

fiero how old are you again?as you can see the sleep thing didnt work out.
one of my best friends in buffalo is an import hater.one time i went to his house for a b'day party and there was an import in his driveway.i went in and asked why is there an import parked in your drive.he went out and looked it was his nieces .he made her park it in the street.i would never buy an import myself i dont care how many problems the us cars have.all the profits go overseas.
actually i would not buy a gm anymore because of the gov't buy out.ford ford ford for me.
i had a 1973 olds 442 with a 455 6:71 blower on the moter when i was younger.4200 lbs and ran 7.2 seconds at around 100 mph.i miss that car

LOL. We were in a car accident Sunday night, he took ****** after creating his name last night and passed out. He can't type as fast as me either, especially if he's on his laptop, the E key doesn't work so every time he wants to write an E he has to copy and paste it.
Yes, I had a Fiero. It was my dad's and he gave it to me, I'm only 27.

^ ya i am the busy one... she gets to play on the computer all day. besides she doesn't sleep to well instead all i hear while i am trying to sleep is the tika ticka ticka ticka ticka on the keyboard because she is always on the forums.
not going to get into the whole muscle vs import thing... cause its played out. what i do have to say is when my "little four cylinder" eats up one of those 8 cylinders w/ edelbrock blah blah, magnaflow blah blah blah blah.... it puts a smile on my face. not that have not worked on vettes or chargers or gtos ... i just like making a motor half the size have double the power.
how did i know this would become a car discussion. i know most of you are from the midwest, west, or south so fords and chevys are what you know. not to worry though, no one is perfect and sometimes we all have to learn from out mistakes. j/k
i can probably post a video of a honda that i built from the ground up that makes 430hp on pump gas if you guys would like.....
anyways thanks for taking me in.... i can't respond as quick... my laptop has received a saltwater bath... so it works how and when it wants. now "w" key...needs to be pressed four times to work... (see that just took a minute to type one w). also the "e" has to be cut and pasted....not to mention windows 7 likes to freeze on me from time to time.
also... no matter what "she" says.... i am the one that puts my hands in the tank and does everything except research and feed.
