Hey whats up saltwaterfish.com Just have alittle bit of questions I am very New too Saltwater ive had freshwater in the past and moved on too semi salt an know i have saltwater
1. One of my questions is i have be cycling my tank for about a month know and i believe i am ready too ad fish. I am currently runnin a wet dry with built in skimmer and UV. BUt one problem is that i brought a used 72 bow front for a very good price the tank was in good condition besides the filth that i had too deal with. The guy i brought it from was (JOES COusin from Joes aprtment)LOL. but any way the tank had bad salt film and dust i cleaaned it the best i could for the first week the tank was well but know the lines from the salt are coming back and i am going crazy with this magfloat i even brought a scrubber for the tank from a fish store but nothing.
I was going too buy another tank but does anybody have any ideas what i should do and if i buy a new tank how should i keep my cycled water from going down the drain.
2.i also invested in a algae pack but all the snails are gone except my emerald crabs and the other crabs. My Boy told me dont put this up because u guys might laugh but this site is here for a reason and i have questions.
thats all i have right now but i know it seem s stupid but my boy told me this is the site for questions and answers. SO please help me if u can Thanks

Well have you tried water and vinegar? I would save the water personally if you get a new tank. Some beginner fish would be clowns gobys blennies. If your doing a reef then just look around this site for what fish youd like.

You cant add the vinegar now. You would have to take everything out. To scrub it I would use idk something that wont scratch. I use vinegar water to clean the outside but addin it straight to the tank would kill the inhabitants. I didnt know that there was anything in it.

Well theres your answer to the missing snails. And triggers are not beginner fish, and damsels are very aggressive, so you will have to be careful what you put in the tank with them.
Oh yeah, to late to try the vinegar, should have done that before you put the water in.

Yes the brown stuff is diatoms they are in every new tank. Once you get rid of the fish inverts would be good.

try some mexican turbo snails they're very good for eating algae. i also reccomend getting a sea hare to help eat algae. there kind of ugly but are one of the best and quickest algae eaters in my opinion
