Good deal, mine looks the same but I dont think it is. Did yours come with calibrating fluid? Mine says ATC on it which I believe means automatic temperature control.
mine did not come with calibrating fluid, I used distilled water (like the instructions said to). BUT when I get over to the university next I am going to calibrate it against theirs to double check it. then double check that against a water of known Salinity, just to be sure.
ATC= automatic temperature compensation
according to the manufacturer, ATC refractometers should be calibrated at 68 degrees farenheight, and recalibrated each time the working room temperature varies more than 5 degrees.
